Sustainable Cashmere Union is supported by a variety of stakeholders from different backgrounds: our partners.
Our close collaboration is based on institutions, NGOs, processors, manufacturers, customers… who ensure the sustainability of the product while adhering to the values promoted by Sustainable Cashmere Union.
Whether through financial, technical or logistical support, everyone contributes to the building and is an integral part of this virtuous circle of consumption.
FFEM
The French Global Environment Facility (FFEM), created in 1994, finances innovative environmental projects in developing countries. It supports initiatives capable of generating local environmental, social and economic benefits.
The FGEF’s funding since 2014 complements the “Sustainable Cashmere” project initiated by AVSF in the Bayankhongor region. The aim of this project is to combat the degradation of pastures and slow down the phenomenon of desertification in the Gobi desert while proposing to develop a sustainable cashmere industry that respects the environment in which it is produced and promotes the perpetuation of traditional breeding.
AFD
Agence Française de Développement –AFD– finances, supports and accelerates transitions towards a more just and sustainable world. Climate, biodiversity, peace, education, urban planning, health and governance are among the issues addressed.
AFD supports AVSF’s project by strengthening farmers’ organizations and civil societies for the agro-ecological transition of territories, by promoting the creation of a sustainable and equitable cashmere livestock sector in Mongolia.
This partnership consolidates AVSF’s capacity for political dialogue on issues of food security, climate change and employment.
EU
The European Union –EU– has been permanently represented since November 2017, when it established its first delegation in Ulaanbaatar. Bilateral relations date back to 1989. The delegation’s missions focus on trade-related assistance, support for sustainable and transparent governance, economic diversification and value chain improvements, climate change mitigation, among others.
The EU delegation is financially supporting AVSF’s project -via STeP EcoLab- which aims to create conditions for sustainable textile production and consumption in Mongolia, focusing on the wool and cashmere sub-sector by leveraging key drivers for sustainable production and consumption.
Contribute to sustainable economic development and poverty reduction in Mongolia.
